JIVAN JAGRUTI WELFARE TRUST
The central Govt constituted the National policy for older persons in 1999 to address the primary health care and welfare of senior citizens of our country. This policy says that each and every family should take care of their older parents/family member as and when required. The policy also encourages civil society / voluntary organizations to supplement and compliment the care provided by their family and provide care and protection to this vulnerable section of the society.
The Torch Bearer of the Divine Mission
We believe that senior citizens form an integral part of our society. Having served throughout their adulthood both outside and inside their family, they are a major work forces in the nation-building when it comes to knowledge and experience. Most importantly, their role in developing empathy, care and responsibility in young adults is irreplaceable.
Our trust is dedicated to provide social security and freedom to those elderly individuals who, unfortunately, either live alone or live without family support.
Jivan Jagruti Welfare trust is committed to work for the cause of senior citizens and protect them from any abuse.
The trust will undertake several programs such as organising bi-monthly awareness programs pertaining to health and social issues and community based structured camps for the cause of senior citizens. The trust’s sole motto is to help the older adults lead an independent life with dignity and to celebrate their lives with peace, love and happiness .
VISION
A home/shelter/ one stop arrangements/society for elder/geriatric people, disable, transgender, classism and other forms of bias and discrimination people, single lady, orphan/semi orphan get healthcare access with emotional support and quality of life till last breath.
MISSION
To establish a shelter to improve the health, freedom and quality of life of our 60+ people
OBJECTIVES
To create awareness among the families, youth, physicians, health professionals to reduce the abuse, neglect 60+ elderly group, disable, transgender etc.
To ensure any elderly from discriminated community access the basic health care, food , nutrition during the stay
To provide one stop arrangements where any needy elderly person, family member (for their parent) can access avail care, health care, referral services, as emotional and spiritual service provider, get conducive environment for the same.

Primary Health care
Primary health care services will be providing through trained practitioner to first time contact person/ visitor. The aim of primary health care includes preventive care, need analysis of the person on her/his health requirement, health management etc.
- Need analysis of geriatric people
- Risk and functionality assessment
- Health care counseling
- Health education and healthy lifestyle after 60+ (if any special focus)
- Diagnosis and treatment for acute problem
- Referral to specialist
- Coordination and follow up

On behalf of the members of Swabniman, the Senior Citizen Association, Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar I express my deep sense of gratitude to Jivan Jagruti Trust for conducting Geriatric Health Awareness programme on 12th December,2021 in the premises of Swabhiman. All most all members of Swabhiman actively participated in the programme. The septugenarians and octogenarians were pleased to take part in various clinical investigations such as Body weight, BP, Pulse rate, Oxygen concentration, Body temperature and Bone density. The supporting staff engaged in the investigations were well trained and quite hospitable. The participants took advantage of free consultation with Dr Sunil Das and Dr Deepak regarding geriatric problems faced by them and their remedy. All the members highly appreciated the most informative and educative talk supported by illustrations on power point by Dr Sunil Das on Geriatric Health issues. All the members expressed their satisfaction on the conduct of the programme and recorded their gratefulness and blessings.
